We are each incredibly powerful. History can be changed as a result of a single person’s actions. Colin Powel is one of our titans; he was able to convince the world invading Iraq was the right thing to do. To bring this war criminal to justice we should engage in a long running campaign. A marathon, an ‘ordeal’ akin the passion of the Christ! Mr. Colin Powel will be successfully taken down by a million tiny blows. A million little cuts, a million words of condemnation, a million words of scorn and vilification. We do this to Mr. Colin Powel because he looked us in the eyes and told us lies. He commanded the world to commit genocide in Iraq and now he will pay.

Colin Powell Confronted in Vancouver.
Today WeAreChangeVancouver confronted Colin Powell at the Vancouver Convention Center. Powell was in town to talk about Leadership in the 21st Century. The organizers of the event sold tickets promising "no questions" would be turned away.

Three members from WeAreChange and a member of Vancouver 911 Truth went inside the venue to ask Powell about War crimes and Depleted Uranium use.

We soon found out that the organizers lied and the question asking would be limited to writing your question down and submitting them. Talk about false advertising.

Powell spoke on his strong leadership and keeping the troops safe....It was quite nauseating when considering DU is poisoning his own troops and he showed zero leadership when it came time to lie to the World at the U.N Security Council about Iraqi WMD's. While Powell was speaking you could here the bullhorning from the outside. Not clearly but enough to bring a smile to my face. We had multiple cameras filming outside and were able to sneak a camera into the event for safety purposes. The question period consisted of " Who do you like better ? The Celtics or Lakers ? and " McCain or Obama" blah blah blah.. All softballs.

Near the end of the question period i stood up and loudly asked Powell about DU use and war crimes. I was quickly escorted out by VPD who were actually decent to me. No taser ! They said "You made your point ...time to leave" I didn't resist and followed their request.. Although i had a ticket to the event and it was advertised that no question would be turned away i was ejected.

As i was getting ejected a fellow WeAreChange member stood up and asked the same question and he also had to leave the building. No less than 30 seconds later a female member of Vancouver 911 stood up and went at Powell again. She was grabbed by the arm and physically manhandled out the venue. This woman is 5 foot tall and teaches ballet for christsake. Her arm is sore and she is suffering some discomfort. The video doesn't look good for the goon that manhandled her. As i left the building out onto the sidewalk i was shocked to see our videographer Mike in handcuffs.

He came out to document the protestors on behalf of WeAreChange Vancouver and to submit the footage to some independant media sites such as WeAreChange,InfoWars,PrisonPlanet and TruthNews. I was quite confused to see Mike in handcuffs. He is your quintessential "nice guy".

People had been bullhorning Powell for an hour and a half without arrest yet he is the guy that ends up arrested. I politely asked the officer what he was being charged with and was told possibly Tresspassing. Tresspassing ?

Reviewing Mike's footage it's clear that Mike was singled out because he was filming the same police officer more than once. With people getting tasered here 24/7 it's unfortunate that the police officer in question reacted so harshly. Another one of our members was followed home on his bike and stopped twice for not wearing a helmut. Harassement? Mike was taken to the Main/Hastings Street Jail in the heart of Vancouver's notorious Lower Eastside. We walked over. There were people shooting heroin into their legs less than a 100 yards from the jail... yet our cameraman was imprisoned for being on a "private sidewalk"

We had a representitve from Lawyers Against War call on our behalf and secure Mike's release 8 hours later. Mike spent hours in a cage surrounded by crack fiends and scumbags. He now has a court date and is being charged. In Canada war crimes are no longer an offense but filming on a private sidewalk is.

Thankfully we got all of our footage out of the venue. We had a middle aged ballet teacher assaulted and our camera man jailed but we live to fight for truth and justice another day

and oh yeah.....The video is going to worthy.

Mr. Colin Powell should not have been allowed into the country as Canada has strict laws that bar entry when there are reasonable grounds to believe a person has either been involved in the commission of war crimes or crimes against humanity or been a senior member of a government that has engaged in gross human rights violations. Mr. Powell's complicity in Depleted Uranium use, extraordinary rendition, the use of torture and inhuman treatment,, indiscriminate killing of civilians etc... makes him inadmissible into Canada. Once a person credibly accused of complicity in torture, such as Colin Powell enters the country, Canada must either prosecute of extradite to another country willing to prosecute.

Lawyers Against War had put Canadian Immigration Minister Diane Finley and the Prime Minister on notice of Canada=92s duty to bar entry or to arrest and prosecute Colin Powell and received no response. Unfortunately it was left to concerned citizens to step up to promote adherence to the law.

WeAreChange members saw an advertisement to Powell's engagement in the Vancouver Sun claiming no questions were off limits. Powell was in town to talk about Leadership in the 21st Century. Three members of WeAreChange and a member of Vancouver 911 Truth purchased tickets and attended in order to ask Powell about Depleted Uranium use, which he is on the record for saying is safe.

Cancer rates and birth defects have skyrocketed in civilian populations with infants being born grotesquely deformed. Depleted Uranium is also killing American soldiers and being passed on to their offspring.

We were surprised to learn on arrival that the organizers were only going to "pick" a couple of pre-written questions. Talk about false advertising.

There were a group of protestors and a lineup of VPD officers(behind the lone police sergeant) which Mike was filming. Mike planned on documenting the group, as it was being ejecting from the sidewalk.

We politely asked the officer what he was being charged with and were

told he would probably be released without charges.

Unfortunately for Michael this is not the case..... He now has a court date and is being charged with assault by trespass.

The only assault we witnessed might have been on the female member of our group who was manhandled while being ejected or on Mike's camera as Mike feels it was targeted Mike felt that the police inside the jail were very surprised that he was incarcerated on "trespassing" charges.

War Crimes , Crimes against Humanity and Torture are crimes in Canada. Peacefully filming a public event is not.

Why did the VPD arrest the cameraman instead of Colin Powell ?

I called the Vancouver police at 604-717-3535. You should too. This is about a person with a camera being arrested for no purpose other than to silence the media, IN A FREE COUNTRY! IN OUR COUNTRY!

The Police in Vancouver appear to have gone rogue. The Police in Vancouver have demonstrated up to this point that they are are not responsive to public concern. This is the sort of thing that leads to armed insurrection. Free people forcibly remove tyrants no matter how large. If other police agencies in the country go rogue as well, prepare for Canada's first Civil War. While our movement is peaceful, the movements that follow may not be.

The Vancouver Police need to understand their role in these momentus times. Police are needed to defend the people as they speak truth to power. The police are there to protect the people and pursue the criminals. In this event we have seen the police abuse the people and protect the criminals.

The Vancouver Police need to be properly disciplined.
