National 9/11Truth Street Poll, October 10th, 11th and 12th, 2008 !

As a result of negative statements of federal politicians regarding "9/11 Truthers" and the political witchhunt taking place to expose and dump candidates who may question 9/11 during the course of the current federal election, we (members of the 9/11 Truth Movement in Canada) have attempted to commission a national, scientific 9/11 poll in time for the federal election (Oct. 14th), but this unfortunately will not take place. We were unable to raise sufficient funds and there was also an apparent unwillingness of national polling firms to undertake the study. Of the four polling firms we approached, only one firm said that they could and would do undertake this study, but not before November 2008.

As an alternative, we are asking 9/11 groups and individuals interested in 9/11 Truth in Canada to take part in doing a random survey of Canadians on the streets in your hometowns between Oct.10th and 12th, and are asking you to circulate this via e-mail to your friends and colleagues in the movement immediately to see if they would like to volunteer.

The target is to survey 1,000 Canadians (total), from which we can then estimate the percentage of Canadians who believe the official story, how many believe 911 was allowed to happen, how many believe it was made to happen, etc, as well as how many accept the notions that conspiracies are only theories, and especially, if they feel a Canadian investigation is warranted.

We feel that we can use the results to pressure our MPs, various parties and the next federal government to take us seriously, to respond to any media claims that we are "fringe", as well as gauge the level of effect we (the movement as a whole) are having.

The results will be compiled and posted here: 911TruthCanada.org and individual groups can also publish them on their own sites and use them in their own literature, etc.

We are now asking for YOUR commitment to help with this survey this weekend.

It is essential to conduct such a poll in the most fair and unbiased way, and as professionally and ethically as possible, and get the largest, random sample possible, from as many places and cities as possible, during the same time frame. This will require discipline and dedication, but will also be fun and hopefully useful for us in the future!

Code of Conduct and Ethics:

1. Surveyors may not ask persons whose opinion you already know to take the poll.
2. Surveyors may not wear any clothing etc that refers to 9/11 Truth nor clothing etc that makes any other political statement
3. Surveyors may not offer any inducements , including free DVDs. in return for participation.
4. Surveyors may not hand out any 9/11 Truth related DVDs or literature.
5. Surveyors may not do anything or say anything that may result in an argument in public view, as this would indicate a bias and will likely dissuade others from waning to take part. Please keep your own opinions and biases to yourself while conducting the poll.
6. Surveyors must not be at nor anywhere near any 9/11 Truth protests or other street actions.
7. Surveyors should, as far as possible, be in open public areas with a fairly high volume of traffic by people from all walks of life, NOT areas that are frequented only by people from certain segments of society. If you are in a large city, you should try to use multiple locations.
8. Surveyors should approach people in a polite and friendly way
9. Surveyors may not express political opinions, biases, religious beliefs, nor electoral preferences.
10. Surveyors should have a clean and well groomed appearance and try to refrain from smoking, eating etc while actively seeking subjects for this survey.

If questioned about who has commissioned the survey, simply tell them that you are not permitted to say.

If you attempt to do the survey inside a mall, you will likely need permission in advance. We advise you to seek permission first. If you are denied, please do not argue, and carry on to a differnet location. If you are near shops or services, please do your best not to interfere with them or their patrons.

You are completely on your own as to any legal liability is concerned. We therefore advise that you go out with a partner and stay relatively close together for your own safety and in case you should require a witness.

It is desirable, if possible, to have someone nearby with a digital camera or video camera to document some or all of your activities, but you should not make it too obvious nor photograph any subject's faces, as they may not appreciate that.

The results of this survey will not be accepted as scientific, but will be hard to refute or to ignore. Our hope is that we can, at a later date, also attempt to commission a scientific poll and compare the results (if the will and cash donations are there).

As this is the first attempt at this and we do not have much time before the election on October 14th, we have formatted it in such a way that it can be handed to individuals to be filled out. That should speed up the process (as opposed to asking each person verbally). This way, multiple people can be surveyed at once.

The survey consists of 6 questions or statements and is two pages in length which should be copied onto a single 2-sided sheet, and then multiple copies can be made.

Please let us know asap whether you or others are willing to participate, as well as any suggestions you may have.
